This Thanksgiving
Loving grattitude seemd to be the theme behind this Thanksgiving. Though it should seem most Thanksgivings are to be this way, often my family is concerned with who is doing the cooking and bringing what dishes. I instead spent Thanksgiving with a dear girlfriend and her family as they pulled through what must of been the scariest struggle of the year. My friends sister was diagnosed with a rapidly spreading cancer that called for an immediate surgery to stop its spreading. Some how her mother put on her red cape and cooked dinner and had fellowship at her home. I just felt so thankful for my friends family that this holiday was marked with a true reason to be gratuitis and happy rather then darkened with sadness and loss. My friends sister is ok and my friend is too.
For all the blessings I can count and the ones I overlook, I am truly thankful.....and stuffed.
i tried hard to put a chapter down yesterday. i was largely unsuccessful. i find myself needing to readdress my main character. i must. don't want to. but i must.
i also finished read Fledling by Octavia Butler. It was her last piece of work before dying last year. it was a well, welcomed redefining of vampires and the lore that is black capes and monstorous murdering. she does that, Octavia. taking a seeded and and accepted belief of something and turning it to its most humanistic of all things, love and necessity.
now i turn to MY SOUL TO KEEP by Tananarive Due. her comparison to Butler on NPR means there will be high expectations in my reading. i hope she delivers.
Why Wait for Sunday
Today seems blissfully unurgent. No need for fast breakfasts, two minute literature speed reading, fast mochas, and fleeting to do lists.
It's Saturday. The last day Marquette Pool will be open, the day of the Japanese Festival at MOBOT, and then sitting on the backporch with take out bread pudding from Boogaloo and a pack of Bali Hai.
Just when did life get so good?
I wasn't watching but man, its great!
Yellow On
Tonight is the first night I'm sitting on my newly painted sunporch. I chose Brick Yellow. My ceilings will be a beautiful cranberry and my floors will be stained dark cherry. I'm so so so thrilled. Such a wonderful addition to my place this is.
This is the first breezy night I've been able to enjoy since coming home to St. Louis. Surprisingly, I look forward to fall and leaving this scorching weather behind us.
Options Are...
Due For a New Do!
The new warm weather and the need for no fuss hair have lead
me to searching for a new do. My froc is being cut but I just can’t decide
which do suits me best because I like too many.
I'll ponder on this for a week and a week only. Have not been this short in a long time so this will be slightly traumatic as I watch my hair hit the floor. The freeing of time though I am looking forward to. It takes me about an hour and a half to straighten, trim, feather, and tame my hair......Wish me luck!!!! I'm scurred!

Endless collection of Once Necessary Stuff
Thought I was done Cleaning out babies closet.
Instead I found my Modela Personal Double Breast Pump. Sigh, I thought this stuff was gone. Anyhow, where do I donate the base/bag/pump to?
I had a buyer for all of Babies lightly used Baby essentials. The buyer never came nor returned calls. So anyways, I still need to get rid of this stuff. If you know someone please pass this forward. It's all a matching set so I'd hate to sale it piece by piece.

Silly Mommy
in an effort to keep all of Babies stuffed animals germ free I washed them today in warm water in the wash.
and what did mommy do?
mommy felted Babies favorite monkey.
he is so felted i should almost cut a seam in his back and make him a monkey purse for Baby, no seriously its that felted. Coincedently I have never successfully felted a purse that I've knitted. HA!
A round-trip baby!
I'm going to Korea baby. Seoul to be exact. I've been perusing the web all week for shopping, style, restaurants, museums, the local sexies.
Itaewon is where I'll be staying. My place is directly across the street from the Korean War Museum on Yongson-Da at Station #4. Yes Station #4. No bothering around with crazy drivers. I'm two steps away from the subway and walking distance to "Foreigners Ghetto," aka "International Shopping and Dining Paradise."
Somebody better warn them, I get slapstick happy around endless shelves of purses, shoes, and cutsie sales associates.
